Our Story

“THE STORY”

This business is run by a husband and wife team Bryce and Malou. We met in Phuket, Thailand 2019. We were both doing our own travels when our paths crossed.

We got married 9 months later in Georgia. Since then we never looked back.

Both of our professional lives we had been working in the Culinary Arts Industry. Malou was working in Copenhagen at a Michelin Star Restaurant. Bryce had been bartending at high end restaurants around Denver. Working under different James Beard Award winning chefs.

Both of us wanted to become entrepreneurs and build a life that suited our interest.

In the beginning of 2019 we bought a Camper from 1957 that was just rusting in someone’s backyard for $800. We were super excited to get things started. But now came the hard part: building everything. Sometimes we felt that we were in over our heads but with some determination and mental focus we saw our project Through. After a year of hard work and dedication our dream was starting to become a reality.

We had finished with the build and started to look for events when the pandemic had just begun.

Which shut down many of our plans and dreams of doing events.

We decided we were gonna hit the road and take our business around america. So we Bought a Van and converted it into a tiny home. Then hooked up our newly renovated Mobile Kitchen / Bar to our Van. Sept 2020 we left Georgia and drove down to Florida. We had events all over. It became easy to just pull up to a bar and ask if we could sell sandwiches outside. That’s when our First Food Truck The Rye Bread Bar came to be. After awhile in Florida, We hit New Orleans, Mississippi, Tulsa  Houston, and Dallas doing events along the way. February 2021 we were doing an event in San Antonio when it all of a sudden started to pour snow. This time period is also known as”Snowmaggeon”. The whole city shut down around us and we got stuck in a bowling alley parking lot for about 3 days.

Realizing we should settle down somewhere and start a home we moved to Austin the very next week.

Austin was the best choice, it’s a food truck city and the people here are so supportive of local small businesses. We love being in a community that has so much to offer.

We started Brunch Brunch Baby Oct 2023, Brunch is something fun, adventurous and exciting. This is what we thrive to be. We want to offer simple, fresh and homemade recipes. We love to make food that makes you feel good.

We have now been in business for 3 years with 2 operating food trucks doing what we love and that’s making people feel happy.

This is just the beginning of our process, our goal is to own our own Restaurant and Bar one day. It’s a long road ahead but we have each other and with that we can do anything.

Follow along our adventures @brunchbrunchbabyatx

Thank you for being a part of our story.
